News from the Oblates of Saint John in Europe
Pilgrimage to Vilnius, May 2026
European oblates are heading to Lithuania’s capital for the second Oblate Pilgrimage. Everybody is invited to follow along. From May 14 to May 17, oblates from several countries will come together for days filled with prayer, lectures, and sharing.
In the heart of Vilnius, they will rediscover the message of Divine Mercy, deepen their faith, and grow closer as one oblate family, united in fraternal charity.

Oblates at the Provincial Chapter
For the first time, European oblates had the honor of being invited to the Provincial Chapter of the brothers, held in January 2026 in Vilnius. The re-elected Provincial, Br. Ignaz Maria, warmly welcomed two members of the Regional Council, Aušra Šmitienė and Agnė Paulėkienė. They presented an update on the current life of the oblates in Europe and responded to questions from the brothers.
Strenghtening of fraternities
Present in nine European countries, the oblates of Saint John live out their vocation as friends of Christ, striving to witness to His light and love. According to their local possibilities, they meet regularly, either in person or online, to pray, share, and grow together.
In 2025, many of these small groups deepened their bonds and matured into stronger, more vibrant fraternities.
